February/March 2011
Spring is on its way here as the robins are starting to return and the maple trees are ready to start their spring sap run. This time of year is a very busy time for us as we are making maple syrup, candy and sugar for the year and starting to plant our gardens indoors from seed we saved from the previous years harvest. It is also a time of year when we start to get out and run and get back into shape for the warmer months. Soon the ice will be melting from the lakes and rivers and we will be going on some canoe trips as well as making birch bark canoes. The classes we are offering are filling fast and we are offering multiple class discounts. If you are enrolling in 2 or more classes please email us for details on the discounts. Hope everyone is excited with the new year and getting out to learn and practice primitive skills. We are also doing many projects dealing with historical reenactments within my favorite time period 1760-1770 so keep an eye out on our You Tube channel. Also we will be uploading more exciting videos on our You Tube page featuring skills of the frontier as well as skills taught in our common classes. Have a great spring and we hope to see you soon.

Memory    Edward Lee Mowery 1949-2008. Ed has been a student for the last year and came to many classes to learn skills or just hang out when he was sick. His wife supported him with his passion to learn primitive skills. If my students have half his passion they will be awesome in the skills. I will miss his phone calls and visits at my home to learn primitive skills. Shuna
